Ahhh.... the first day of Upward Bound instructor training. Talked through a lot of things, went on a short hike and got to know the other instructors a bit. Great people. Should be a great time. Lots of great events planned. I will keep you posted with some good pics.

Man oh man... so four more stitches, or sutures to be more correct. I think that brings up the grand total to 12 , for the last 4 months. I don't know, must be doing something wrong. Oh and not to worry, no awful pictures this time *smirk*.

We're back!!! Paris was a great time. Tones to see and do. I put all our pictures in a Paris gallery so that you can check them out. We saw art, old buildings, towers, dead people, Disneyland, more then 40 old school Mini's in one day, ate ice cream, ate sushi, ate crapes, went to a movie, walked for more then 10 hours each day, and generally just had a good time. Check it out!

Well it is official. The camera is dead. I tried it this morning. If have started a memorial fund. Cheques and cash can be written and given to me. The memorial fund will be used to supplz me with a new camera.

Well today was a better day. After breakfast we went to the waterfall that contained my camera and after the very first dive retrieved it. I now have it back in my possession and I am in the process of drying it out so that I can see if it worked. As soon as we got back we went surfing on the river.

It doesn't look terribly exciting in the picture, but it was a great time. Following surfing and we had a big BBQ and just relaxed. Kind of rainy today, but all in all a good day. Now if only my camera works once it is dry.

Well the unthinkable has occurred... my video camera is no more. At least not currently. It and the water proof case worked perfectly the entire time we were canyoning. I cot all kinds of good footage, but on the last drop as the case hit the water it opened up, filled up with water, and sank with my camera in it. Right before my eyes. So, depressing. Tomorrow I am going diving to see if I can find it and if I am extremely lucky, which I doubt, it may even work after drying out. Bah... as I sit here I was I was already there diving and trying to save it's little electronic life. Not to worry though I make 50 Euro/month and the camera was worth about 400 Euro so if I just don't spend any money for the next 8 months I will be able to buy a new one. :-(

Well it didn't work out with Munich, but we did take a group climbing and tomorrow we go canyoning so I am hoping to try out the water proof case we made for the video camera. We will see if I end up with some video footage or a broken camera. :)

Well today was the first day in the entire time that we have been here that we actually got to go climbing on real rock! I think we will have to go a lot more now that the weather is nice. Tomorrow we will either be climbing again or hitting Munich for some surfing. Depends on whether I can get a hold of my ride.

Soon I will update you with lots of pictures and movies. Just haven't had the time to put things together.

Well I was going to put up a surfing video, but I am not sure if my skills justify a movie quite yet. We will be going again tomorrow and then Thursday we are going to hit the big wave in Munich. By then I suspect that I will have enough to show you. Even if it isn't me, but is other's in Munich. :-)

As for how things are going. They are going good. We finally have sunshine again and there is lots to do out side.

Well the sun is back. At least for a couple of days and now it is time to hit the river. As long as the water is high enough one of the rapids folds back and makes a small wave and you can surf on the river. We have a cable going across the river with a rope tied to it. You get on the surf board by the edge of the river and then let your self back until the surf board is on the wave. If the river is high enough you don't even need to hold on to the rope. I would compare the surfing experience to surfing behind the boat. The wave is maybe a bit bigger the wake could ever get. I will see if I can't film it so you get an idea of what it is like.

Rain rain on my face
It hasn't stopped
Raining for days
My world is a flood
Slowly I become
One with the mud

It seems as though the sun shine has forgotten about Austria. Things have been getting a bit dreary, but not to bad. Needless to say we will be watch'n all three Lord of the Ring movies tomorrow.

Oh and the other reason that I had the Jars of Clay song at the beginning is because they are coming to our church.

Well it looks like Kim and I will be spending a week in Paris. Today we received our flights. We purchased them with our Air Canada air miles. Seeing as we never know for sure what is going to happen with Air Canada I think it is a pretty good deal. So at the end of Spring School we will be practicing our French. Yikes!

As well today was Vic's last day. He left this morning and is heading back to Canada. It's to bad he had to leave, because we sure had some great times and one amazing winter!

Well it hasn't been terribly sunny here during the last few weeks, but the company has been great and so has the outdoors. Even though it has been raining a bit we have still managed to go on some hikes, play some soccer, a little climbing, and soon we will be watching the world cup mountain bike downhill. Like the ski race here in the winter it will also be at night. It will be good to get back and see many of you again, but at the same time it sure is a good time here. There is always something to do. Have a good one and I will try and be a little more regular with some pictures worth looking at.
