Went climbing today at the U, good times had by all. I was struck that when I got there I instantly got this sorta happy, exciting feeling inside. I guess it can be a combination of good memories of past times there and excitement adout getting back into something that I quite enjoy doing. The climbing wall has provided many hours of solving problems and just hanging out with some cool people. The people that are there are I find are some of the most friendly people I have ever met. It is just an enjoyable, relaxing environment to be in. Plus the climbing is pretty good as well. I think I enjoy climbing because it is a combination of physical and metal exercise, plus it is a sport where you compete against yourself and push yourself to do some pretty cool moves. Nothing quite like when you redpoint the route or problem you have been working on for a while. Well I hope to continue the trend and get back into a regular climbing schedule, and am looking forward to getting out doors for a couple of trips.

Today I had my first sermon. It was on Connecting with God. It went ok, but I am a little uncertain about what I think. I was kind of rushed and I didn't get into as much detail as I wanted, but it isn't to bad. If you want to have a look at the power point and listen to what I said you can download (20 MB) it. We will see how long I actually leave it up.

Let me know what you think and if you have any trouble downloading it.

Well last night was quite entertaining. We had Austrian Dancing Night. I have put some pictures into a new Austrian Dancing Gallery. Here is a preview pic.

As well as I have made a little hair style change...

Actually I have such a wimpy head that I couldn't even sleep on it so I took it out before I went to bed, but for a few minutes I was cool thanks to Erin.

Here are a couple of pics from Kim's parents visit. Besides I am sure you were getting tired of looking at Dan's ugly ear everytime you came to the web site.

So now that spring is here, and hopefully it isn't going to snow again, Mountain Bike riding is in full effect these days. I am pretty excited as I haven't really done a whole lot over the winter and getting out and doing something you love is just so invigorating. But alas, rides don't always go the way you want them to. Take for instance last ride, me and a tree decided to get at it. I went head first with everything I had, and the tree still won. Well at least I have something to show for it; this nice picture and a cracked helmet. The tree it had nothing.

I was going down this very steep hill when my back tire slid out, and I went down and right head first into a tree. Fortunately the helmet did its job and absorbed a lot of the impact and I just had to get a couple of stitches to my ear and a bit of a stiff neck. This is a warning to all those who think they are too tough to wear a helmet.... WEAR A FREAKIN' HELMET!! Anywho, I am fine, just a little trouble sleeping on one side of my head. Should be back on the trails in no time.

Well Kim's parents have come and gone. It was good to see them and we had some good times chatting. I should have some pictures for you tomorrow.

Last night turned out to be a bit of an interesting one though. I was back in our room getting ready for bed after just finishing lock up and making sure people where in there beds when I heard this whistle. My first thought was that some of the students must be out side or whistling out of their window, but thought it is probably ok I will just wait. Then I heard more and more whistling. So I headed out on our balcony to see what the deal was and all I saw was Will walking by and then back to his hut. I asked him what was up and he said he didn't know and couldn't see and was going to get some light. I through on my pants and shirt to go see who was causing the problem. When I got down stairs will called me to hurry over and in his arms was a brand new baby deer. His dog Lissi had stolen it from the mother dear, who had just given birth to it behind the lecture hall, and carried it across the property and was kind of burying it in some dirt. Lissi didn't hurt the deer at all and it was kind of hard to figure out what she was up to. So we were going to try and drop the deer off where Will thought it was born, but there was no deer around anywhere and it was freezing cold outside. So, in the end we just kept it in our room for the night so that it wouldn't freeze and so that nothing would attack it while it was unprotected. At first it was cool having this tiny little deer in our room and then about 4:00 in the morning when it still wasn't sleeping the coolness hard warn off. By time the morning came around I hadn't slept all that much and neither had the deer. It did some how learn to walk during the night and was cruising around our room looking for a place to hide. We went to the police station to tell them that we had a wild life problem, but they told us just to take it to the vet or what ever... seeing as we didn't know what we did we called the local deer farmer and later that morning they came and got the deer, but not before we got a couple of pictures.

Kim's parents have arrived with their friends Warren and Marian. IT is good to see them again and surprisingly not all that strange to be seeing them in Austria. We are heading to Salzburg with them today. See you in a few.

Currently our web hosting has been done by ezhostplace.com. We have had a couple of minor issues not really worth mentioning and now we are supposedly getting a server upgrade as they merge with another company. A couple of minor hassles, but for the most part a really good deal at only $20(US) per year. If you are looking to host your own site I would definitly check them out.

Well I am running a little low on sleep. Was up to midnight last night with the student's then woke up at 3:00 and drove 5 hours to a speaking engagement with HP (Director of Tauernhof) then 5 hours back, then church, followed by outreach meetings, a phone call, and a quick post to you guys.

Oh ... and I drove through the largest tunnel I have ever bin in, which went under a mountain and was about 2km in length. Then I drove on an autobahn again and let's just say there weren't to many people passing me if you know what I'm sayin'.

All in all a good time, lots of bonding time with HP, and now I am hitting the sack.

Last night we played Fear Factor with the students. Very entertaining. I will see if I can get some pics, but other wise your imaginations are probably good enough. First they had to swing through the leftover food in the pig bucket. The fastest times then had to bob for cow eye's like bobbing for apples and followed by which eat sardines and snails. The fastest time then had to race across two ropes suspended between trees. The fastest time then won a Tauernhof hoodie. Maybe one day they can win teeuwsen.com hoodies if it ever comes together. Oh what a prize that would be. :)

As I mentioned before this is the first year that Upward Bound hasn't filled up almost instantly. There are still about 10 spaces left. I have put up some Upward Bound Pics from last year for you to have a look at. If you want to go just get in touch with Tauernhof or you can send me an email and I will point you in the right direction.

Whoever says Edmonton is boring sure wasn't at Red Robin on Saturday night...

So there we (DJ, Jeaninne, Sarah, Tracy and myself) are at Red Robin, and as always after dinner we headed the Red Robin arcade. This is always one of the highlights of going to Red Robin. How can you go wrong with a 25 cent arcade games. We were having a great time, DJ and I got some high scores on the really old Sega Race car game, and the girls were having a great time with Ms. Pac-man. Then the girls noticed this quite intoxicated guy in the foyer of the restaurant cruisin' around with his hand down his pants. I think they thought he had to go to the bathroom or something, very odd at any rate. What also is strange is that he has his bike in the restaurant, he wasn't riding it, just brought it in and put the kickstand up and it was just sitting there, strange. So we are playing our games, when crazy drunk guy comes into the little arcade room, and starts watching Jeaninne play Ms. Pac-man. He makes some comments, probably to the effect of "Ms. Pac-man eh, that game is really old." Jeaninne ignores him, finishes her game and moves away while this guy starts to play. Somewhere in the middle of it he drops a cigarette on the floor and starts yelling, "Pick up my f'n cigarette." No one wants to do this and well we are all a little uncomfortable at this point, but it all seems harmless, guy is just a little drunk. So the girls leave the arcade, and I finish up my game and DJ and I go and join them. At this point they must have been getting a little bit tired, or crazy, because they started talking about stealing his bike. Would probably have been funny as he probably wouldn't be able to figure out what was going on, plus he was quite mean to them, but a little scary as you never know how drunk people are going to react sometime. So, we leave and are standing between the doors when we see some police officers around the corner waving at us to get out. They tell us to get out of the way and go and wait by there car. Minutes later they have there guns drawn, and are entering multiple exits at the same time. Now this is getting kinda of exciting, what is going on. The suspense is killing me.... well apparently the guy had told someone that he had a gun, I guess that is why his hand was down his pants. Now nothing very exciting happened after that, the cops took him out in handcuffs and we went home. But it coulda been a lot different. We never did find out if he had a gun, but I don't think he did. And what if he did, and what if the girls took his bike, or he got really mad because we didn't pick up his cigarette..... Or what if the girls took his bike and walked out the door to where the police were.....

Well at any rate, it made the night a little more interesting. The night was capped off with a little SNL and the movie "Grind", what better way to spend a evening, eh.

I know that we are overloaded with many Matrix rip offs, but here is another one. www.matrix-xp.com There is a good movie, but it is also 32MB. Looks like a lot of work, but hopefully our movie making skills start getting better and then we can start making some more interesting things.

Babies. Why is it that eveyone wants them. It seems to be the latest rage. Well I am encouraging you all to resist. It's not time yet. I am not ready and if to many of you head down this path I may not be able to keep my wife in the waiting mode. If you haven't already heard both Christine Riggins and Pauline Guarnett are having babies as well as Kim's cousin Karolyn Wigelsworth. Nothing but trouble.

Side note if you haven't already checked out our movies be sure you do and let us know what you think. I have to make a movie for Spring School for Tauernhof as well as I am thinking thanks to Dan that we should be making a Le Parkour movie. What do you think?

So, no skiing last weekend, oh well, perhaps some other time. So insted it is yard work time. Now I would show a before and after shot, but I only have a during shot.

As you can see, Saturday was a lot of work. But it is always good fun to cut down some trees. Man, what an environmental terrorist I am *smirk*. But I will keep you all posted as my yard is transformed into something.... well I hope it is something beautiful, but we shall see when I get done. Thanks in advance to all of you who may help at some point in the summer, hopefully I will be able to sucker some of you to give me a hand. Cheers!

This weekend has been pretty busy. We have been running back and forth between the school and a youth conference that Tauernhof was helping out with. Good opportunity to mingle with locals and meet some new people. Things here are in full swing. I think the next two months are just going to fly by. Before we or you know it we will be home again.
